In addition to the fantastic election jokes, his jokes about white riots are funny, his jokes about Barack Obama are funny, and he has some jokes about the current president that are really solid. This isn’t something I expected to say, but Katt Williams has some surprisingly solid, accurate, funny socio-political material. The joke about CNN on election night is hilarious. The vote about white people voting in 2016 was fantastic. I do want to acknowledge just how fun Williams’ punchlines can be when they roll around. It’s not very captivating, and you can find yourself wandering as you wait for the next burst of punchlines. He tells stories that let him tell those fantastically quotable lines only Katt Williams could perform, but often it can take much too long to get to those punchlines. Part of the not so fun aspect of watching Katt Williams is you’re watching comedy only Katt Williams would try to perform. Part of the fun of watching Katt Williams is you’re watching comedy only Katt Williams can perform. He is infinitely quotable, and when quoted you always try and mimic his voice while you do it because it’s the only way it works. He has such a distinctive, idiosyncratic cadence and speech pattern. He’s got such a unique, loud, over the top manner of speaking that by no means should work because I normally really don’t like comedians that just yell most of their lines, but with Katt Williams it’s such an intrinsic part of his performance and Williams is self aware enough to integrate it so well that it becomes a real part of the humor instead of a disservice. Williams’ best trait was always his delivery. Welcome to Jacksonville, motherfucker, lets review a stand-up special. We’re known all over the place for our country. Now, that being said, I get that if I was to watch a comedian and they did twenty minutes on a city like Great Island, Nebraska I would probably not get it and be bored. Normally when you’re from Florida you’re just like, “Yeah, people do meth all the time what do you want from me,” or, “Hey I had a class with the latest viral florida man headline” (true story), or, “What do you mean you’ve never seen a gata’ in a suburban retention pond,” or maybe even something like “No I’m telling you I know for sure that multiple rabid squirrels are common pets for people everywhere you go,” and I know you’ve said “Wait white cooks don’t normally jerk chicken?” But somehow, by some miracle, Katt Williams, of all people, is able to pull together a perfect bit about the insanity that is living in Jacksonville, Florida and it acknowledges every aspect of the culture. Somehow Katt Williams figured out how to mock Jacksonville better than anyone who has ever attempted a joke about even just the state of Florida in general. They are beyond accurate, they are absolutely hilarious, and I love every single joke about the city or its people that he makes. This is going to be my most biased special because this special was filmed in Jacksonville, Florida, and the majority of the opening of this special is dedicated to Williams making jokes about Jacksonville.
